Seriously imaginative fantasy/horror.
This series is so imaginative. And the further in you get, the more stuff it throws at you. I’m actually finding it really difficult to write about it because the more detailed it gets, the weirder it gets, and the more impossible it becomes to talk about. Go Ask Malice
This book needs a trigger warning (if you’re into that sort of thing.) It’s rare that a “dark” spin on the Alice mythos actually lives up to that (shallow) attribution. This one’s filled with so much violence (sexual violence, regular violence, torture) that even the decapitation-happy Queen of Hearts would be like “Damn, girl, you went there?” It’s a pretty good book, but it’s important to know what you’re getting into. See above re: violence, but also know that it’s almost entirely violence against women. […]
