Loved This Take on Old Man Logan

February 8, 2017 by Classic Leave a Comment

I have so many questions as I finished Volume 1. First off, the art was fantastic. The turmoil of Logan was palpable through the pages. And this comic was gritty and graphic in a lot of places. I maybe got a stomach ache a few times based on what I was reading. All in all though, great job by Jeff Lemire! This volume collects Old Man Logan (2016) issues #1-4. There is a lot going on in this volume, but I was able to follow […]

Beginning of His Journey

February 8, 2017 by Classic Leave a Comment

So another great issue in the chronicles of the Gunslinger. Wow. Once again high marks to taking the most important parts of Wizard and Glass and bringing it to life in this graphic novel. We see that Roland’s father is not so inept that he does not realize what his wife has been up to for a couple of years now. Which kind of begs the question what was he thinking by letting it go on. I see some parallels to King Arthur and Guinevere […]

The Beginning of our Gunslinger

February 8, 2017 by Classic 2 Comments

The Gunslinger is brought to life in this graphic novel. I have all of the feels right now. Seriously. Watching how our Roland goes from being a young boy to a true Gunslinger in this issue hit all of the high notes. Roland Deschain who will one day walk alone to the Tower, I see you. And it is wonderful. “I do not aim with my hand; he who aims with his hand has forgotten the face of his father. I aim with my eye. […]

Secrets Finally Revealed (About Freaking Time!)

February 8, 2017 by Classic Leave a Comment

Finally! We finally find out what the heck is going on. What caused the rift between Jessica. Why did she go to jail? Why is Misty acting like a stalking fool and talking crap about Jessica? Okay that last one we don’t get an answer to, but I was so over Misty that I am hoping Iron Fist shows up and is all so baby, are we not a thing anymore?  I have no idea what she is doing besides acting like Jessica cannot and […]

Still Chasing Down Secrets

February 8, 2017 by Classic Leave a Comment

Well at least we finally get to see who has captured Jessica and what they are up to. We still don’t know about the great rift that no one is giving any details about. But I still had issues with thinking that somehow Jessica has hit up the dark side or whatever was going on through issues #1 through now. We see that someone is out to get the Avengers and actually any superhero out there. A woman reveals to Jessica that she plans on […]

Teenage Wasteland

February 7, 2017 by Emmalita 4 Comments

So what would you do if you found out your parents were super villains? Alex, Nico, Karolina, Gertrude, Chase and Molly choose to run away and plot to take down their parents any way they can. I started out with 4 stars, but it’s really closer to 3. I enjoyed Runaways, but it is no Saga. On the night that the 6 teens find out their parents are super villains, they also find out that some of them have powers, one is an alien, one […]
