The abstractness of jokes (makes no sense, with no punchline) of 2 Dumb Dinos, will hit the right reader, but it was not my cup of tar (pit). Do you Nathan Hamill and Eric Filipkowski and I hope you find the right audience.
To help you do so, let me mention some things about the book. I read via an online reader, but it is available. Therefore, I am not sure of the actual size, but I have a feeling the book will be on the smaller end of things, a nice little something you find at the checkout counter of your favorite local bookstore, grocery store, or country store. The only color I found was on the cover. Every so often the fourth wall is broken, or at least bent. The two dinosaurs do all sorts of things, while doing nothing at all. They do a lot of talking. A. Lot. Of talking. And dying. And saying dumb sh%t. Even sometimes some smart sh%t. Not that anything is earth shattering, or perhaps even not common knowledge, but our Dino pals are not common or really in the end all that knowledgeable. We have adult themes, language and not so subtle commentary of sex, drugs and rock-n-roll.
The cover (short of the color) shows you exactly what is inside the book for illustrations. We have a sharp toothed dinosaur, and a not so sharp toothed dino. They are both frenemies and buddies who stand against a blank backdrop. This is mentioned a few times (the lack of scenery). Also what is mentioned is the fact that the jokes make no sense and have no punchline (which when I read that I knew I would mention more than once in the review).
A few notes: Yes, that is Nathan Hamill son of Mark Hamill. And Eric Filipkowski is… sorry I am not familiar with you. But then again, you’re also not familiar with me.
