The book, No Legs, No Limits (An Empowering Picture Book for Kids) by Kanya Sesser, Nisha Lamsam Ligon, and Lenny Wen (illustrator) is one big wow! The presentation of Sesser’s issues with people making assumptions, her finding her voice and then how she shows how “normal” she really is, is a great way to show and talk about differences to a younger audience. The illustrations, while bold, bright and fun, were a bit too “cartoon-like” for my personal tastes, but they completely capture the upbeat voice.
The story we know: Being different. But there is so much more to this book than having a physical difference. There are the people involved. Well meaning people who do not think before they act. And a young girl who has to find her voice to speak up for herself. But that is not easy as the language needed is not her first language. 
Sesser’s story is a strong, sweet one. It is not preachy, nor too passive. The illustrations keep things upbeat and the addition of the background information with photographs are a great addition. I am a physical adult. That means people assume and I assume I know things. But after reading this due in November 2026 picture book, I realized we all can learn more. And that is what makes this book both familiar, but fresh and new as well. Read via an online reader copy, this book will be read multiple times by me before I have a finished copy. And once that happens, this book will be a book I will be giving to my friends, family and local library.
