Cannonball Read is holding a fundraising auction in honor of longtime Cannonballer, retired CBR board member, and Quick Questions maven, Bothari43. Unlike our usual fundraising efforts to support the American Cancer Society, this auction’s proceeds will go to help fight ALS, (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. The ALS Association, which funds ALS research and advocates for policies that support people living with ALS and their caregivers, will receive 100% of the proceeds of this auction.
A Cannonballer for 10 years, Bothari43 has written reviews for hundreds of books and interviewed 55 Cannonballers over the years. The ALS Association did a fantastic interview with Bothari43 about writing as her way of processing “the fuckery.” A selection of her witty and thoughtful Cannonball Read reviews includes:

This auction has a variety of offerings: a gorgeous quilt perfect for cozy reading, opportunities to talk with authors about how to be an author, expertise in a variety of subjects, an opportunity to get advice, an opportunity to complain, curated kitten pics, and of course books!
