Kit Rocha’s Consort of Fire has done something really well: it has hit that sweet spot between a really well-envisioned fantasy world and romance. Queer romance at that. You could pick it up for either of those genres and be completely satisfied. The fact that it does justice to both is proof that the two authors behind the pseudonym of Kit Rocha are the real deal.
Consort of Fire has done an excellent job of introducing us to this fantasy world where the Gods and Dragons still walk amongst us. The world building was done with care and planning and is easy to understand and follow, even for those of us (like myself) that came for the romance and stayed for the rest.
When Emmalita recommended this one to me, I was skeptical. More so after reading the description. I tend to like my romance extra spicy and brainless. I’m so glad I trusted her, downloaded it on Kindle Unlimited, and read it on a Saturday leading up to Christmas. Truly a magical, heart-filled way to take my mind off holiday-related stress.
I realize I have told you almost nothing of the characters and plot. Just trust the process, okay? There is something here for EVERYONE. I can’t stress that enough. There is room for all at the table of this book.
Five of Five stars, would absolutely recommend to anyone and everyone. Except my mom, because she is not prepared to handle the level of spice contained in these pages.
