Two different but similarly toned books are You’re the Apple of My Pie (Punderland) and You’re the Star in My Sky: A Star Light, Star Bright Story. Both titles are
sweet, bedtime, naptime, resting time, but also reading time as there is fun and puns. Both titles are great for most ages and perfect gifts for the special little ones in your life. (Reader copies were read for the below titles).
Rose Rossner made a little love with You’re the Apple of My Pie. They also made some bad puns and jokes, too. Things like “Cutie Pie’ on the pie page and “nuts for you” on the page with a squirrel show the level of punnery. This board book is for the youngster in your life that you cannot help but be think it is “unbeleafable” that you have a wonderful person like them in your life. You can see the illustrations of Jill Howarth in July 2023. These are cute, simple, not complex but are fun to view. Overall, this is a good first book to have in your arsenal of books.
We then head over to You’re the Star in My Sky: A Star Light, Star Bright Story by Susanna Leonard Hill. We still have a sweet book about love and that special little one in your life. Based on the poem of the same name, children will learn (as the publisher description says), that that the world is a “wonder and boundless promise.” The beauty of the world unfolds in text and the art of Natalia Vasilica. Everything is sweet, cute, simple, not overly detailed but you see the bigger picture. Overall, it is a fun curl up together and read kind of book. We will be able to enjoy this book with our little ones in August 2023.
