Shhhh! I should be working, but it is a day off for most of the people in my area so, I sneaked in a few picture books and reviews as nobody was around to see me be naughty (not even the Big Guy, as he’s in his office working!)
The Crayons Go Back to School by Drew Daywalt and illustrated by Oliver Jeffers is a simple story about the crayons new adventure (read via Edelweiss, due mid May 2023). It is the crayons being crayons. The clean up after summer, say goodbye to the beach (and it says goodbye to them), they worry what they will wear on the first day of school, the meet new and old friends and have a few adventures. The art is classic Crayon stories and is what you’d expect from them.
Danbi’s Favorite Day by Anna Kim illustrated by Anna Kim is a sweet book (I read via Edelweiss, due April 2023). This second reading allowed me to appreciate the sweetness of a little girl with a big heart, and bigger ambitions, in a new way. When rain tries spoiling the picnic on her Children’s Day party, that does not mean it will spoil the day. She needs to use that wonderful imagination and make it work. Adorable, colorful, and cozy, illustrations, support our little heroine and her celebrations.
What is Cooler than Lemonade? Well, A Story about Great Ideas and How They Happen (Or Cooler than Lemonade: A Story about Great Ideas and How They Happen). This book by Jerath Harshita and illustrated by Chloe Burgett (read via Edelweiss, due March 2023) is a story about ideas and if they do not work, how you need to adjust (and sometimes readjust multiple times). Warm and friendly text and artwork, makes this is fun anytime read for most ages. Includes a special recipe for a special treat.
