Cannon Book Club is live! Join in any or all of our three discussion posts:
- The 1619 Project: A New Origin Story by Nikole Hannah-Jones
- All Boys Aren’t Blue by George M. Johnson
- The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas
It is a little hard to believe, but we are a little over three weeks away from our Banned Books #CannonBookClub. (Where has this summer gone?)
In honor of Banned Books Week’s 40th birthday we are reading All Boys Aren’t Blue by George M. Johnson, The 1619 Project by Nikole Hannah-Jones, and The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas. Cannonballers are encouraged to read any of the selections above—you can read one, you can read all, it’s completely up to you. We would love it if you can write and post reviews sometime before Book Club convenes on September 16 – just remember to tag your post with the CannonBookClub tag to make your review discoverable with the other book club reviews. Even if you can’t get your review up in time, all are welcome to chime in on our Discussion Posts which will go live on September 16, at our Zoom Meeting* on September 17, 2 pm eastern/11 am pacific, or in any of our social media platforms.
(*Sign up for the CBR newsletter, Cannon Fodder, to get Zoom connection info. If you have any issues receiving the Zoom details, please contact us.)
I look forward to seeing you all then!
