So I’ve reached the second installment in this trilogy, and I finished almost a month ago and for some reason I have yet to write a review and now the details are slipping from my brain…
So lets try this. I enjoyed re-reading this book. It was almost like I was reading it for the first time, because I had honestly wiped the entire thing from my mind. And the funny thing is that again I feel like it’s already slipping away and I haven’t started book 3 yet. That can’t be good. How can a book be so enjoyable to read and so forgettable at the same time? I am so confused now.
Anyway, on to the story. After the events of the first book, Lisbeth is off gallivanting around the Caribbean and Blomkvist has published a book on the Wennestrom affair and has been on talk shows and is moving on with his life, but confused as to why Lisbeth is avoiding him. Actually, I don’t think the 2 of them see each other this entire book, until the very last scene.
This book is not fast paced – it took half the book for me to really understand what the story was going to be about, but it is still really gripping. They’re diving into sex trafficking, and if you can ignore a few things that both date this book, and give Salander some super-human abilities, you’re in for a good time.
I now need to go and start book 3 before I completely forget what happened in book 2 – it left a lot of things open and I need to know what happens next. I think. 🙂
