I like some science fiction. I also am a book nerd. Most especially children’s books. I also like Golden Books. Those skinny, tiny picture books with that shiny golden spine (ooh how I love shiny). And the memories of when I was allowed them (usually when mom went to the grocery store). Therefore, when I was looking up a book for a customer, I stumbled upon three GB books that checked the boxes: Science Fiction (Star Trek), Book (Golden Book) and children’s. I found I Am Captain Kirk; I Am Mr. Spock and Too Many Tribbles.
Frank Berrios, Ethen Beavers and Elizabeth Schaefer created the text and illustrations. Goofy art and text. Great colors, the details needed and just a good time by all can be had. You will see old favorites (Mudd; aliens; and more). For the adult fan memories can come flooding back. And for the child, you just have a fun book to read.
I Am Captain Kirk (Star Trek) by Frank Berrios (author) and Ethen Beavers (Illustrations)If you have a Star Trek fan, this Golden book (along with others) is the perfect addition to their collection. Yes, they are aimed at the Golden Book crowd, but the nostalgia element alone makes it perfect! We get a basic introduction to our Captain and see all the favorites of the original TV series
I Am Mr. Spock (Star Trek) by Elizabeth Schaefer (author) and Ethen Beavers (Illustrations)Are you Team Kirk or Team Spock? Well if you’re Team Spock this Golden book is the perfect addition to your man…. uh Vulcan! We see our Favorite First Officer in an introduction that is both funny and sweet. While aimed at the Golden Book crowd, adults will get a kick out of this as well.
Too Many Tribbles! (Star Trek) by Frank Berrios (author) and Ethen Beavers (Illustrations) The story you know, and love is done in a simpler format, but the Trouble with Tribbles is alive and well. The perfect gift for the adult fan, but also the Golden Book crowd will get a kick out of those furry, lovable, destructible critters!
