Spring Again

Goodbye Winter, Hello Spring by Kenard Pak

February 7, 2020 by BlackRaven Leave a Comment

I do not mind winter. I do not like the extreme, bitter cold, but overall, I like winter. After all was born in a snowstorm (I think) for a reason. But I love Autumn, it is my favorite time of the year, it is colorful and the right warmth. I am not a fan of Summer with its way too hotness and bugs. And Spring is a short season in New England prone to going into Mud Season sooner (and longer) than even pigs like. Therefore, if it is a bitter cold winter or a muddy spring, you should stay inside and read. One book you can read is Goodbye Winter, Hello Spring by Kenard Pak.

This is an enjoyable picture book that takes a slightly different and poetic look at the changing of the season from winter to spring. The illustrations are both sturdy and soft and poetic as well. It is a cozy book that rereading is not going to be a chore. Perhaps, this is more for adults than kids (i.e.: they can appreciate the art) but kids will like the walk/journey the child of the book takes.

Part of a series, this time the book shows you the changing of the season from winter to spring but done not in the traditional manner or even images. There is something about the book that is realistic and fantastic at the same time. It is a book to sit and relax with, there is no real action, just story driven. A book that is personally experienced.
