I have said it before, and I will say it again: I was a ten-year-old boy in another life. There is nothing like some good “potty humor” jokes. (Now, that is debatable, of course, and changes definition from person to person, but I stick by my statement.)
You know what you are getting into and where the story is going when you read the title of Donald Budge’s book, Where is My Butt? You know that there will be some potty jokes (after all we are talking about butts) that will come as no surprise. Morty is a penguin who is pretty sure he has a butt, but he has never seen it or touched it. Therefore, off on a wild adventure our penguin hero goes to learn the answer to the burning question: Where is my butt? This is a silly story and your toddler will like to follow our penguin, Morty, as they try and find out where (or if) they have a butt.
The illustrations by Daron Parton will make the adults wonder why the penguin is wearing a snorkel and how did it get to the jungle and outer space. But your child will just enjoy the story in this study board book. It was a clever story and I stood there on a quick book reading break and got to the point where I was laughing so much I had to remind myself to breath. When the climax finally explodes onto the page, I lost it. Will this book be on my top 10 best books list? Probably not, but I am really hoping I have a young child in my life soon so it can be given to them.
