Croc & Turtle: Snow Fun! is a modern-day Frog and Toad. We have two best friends with Croc and Turtle. However, Croc likes the outdoors and doing exciting things (ice skating, sledding) while Turtle likes being indoors and doing more relaxing things (large puzzles and paper snowflake crafts). But that does not matter! If the two of them are together, it will be fun! Therefore, their solution is to do both to-do lists they have created. That is, until Croc can no longer stand the inside a second longer and Turtle refuses to go outside again. Yet, two friends can always find a solution if they think on it and work together!
This would be a fantastically adorable board book. The full-length picture book, while captures the illustrations, allows the text to get lost. And you do not want to lose Mike Wohnoutka’s text. Do to the simpler story and easier to read wording, this would be a good story for a beginning reader to practice some solo (with help) reading.
Ages two to five will enjoy the story of two friends and all the wonderful things they can do, and all will laugh heartily (or at least give a sturdy chuckle) when they see the clever, creative solution only two besties can come up with when they figure out how both can have what each loves and be able to play together.
The illustrators are modern. They are sleek, bright, toddler-friendly colors. There is a lot going on each page, but not overly overwhelming.
