Is Moldilocks and the Three Scares: A Zombie Tale going to become a classic? Probably not. Will it become a favorite for you and your child? I sure hope so! This not your parents Goldilocks story. It has a Halloween/scary twist with the beloved items still all there: too hot alpha-bat stew; hard beds, soft chairs and one sleepy ghoul. But this time, things do not end as you think they will.
Lynne Marie created a story that is not just for the lover of Halloween or fairy tales or even just the Goldilocks story, but also created something that could be considered an adoption story. Our Family of Monsters will have you recalling The Munsters with their multi-monster family (one Frankenstein Dad, one Mummy Mommy and one little ankle-biter baby). There is a lot to love and to see.
And thanks to David Rodriguez Lorenzo’s illustrations you get a funny, silly, colorful and detailed good time bunch of illustrations. Our Moldiocks has a fun punk look; our baby monster has the fangs to deal with a dead-asleep ghoul in their bed and Mummy Mommy will have some fun in her laboratory with an assistant. Just enjoy the art as well as the text itself.
This book is a five not because it is new or fresh, we have seen remakes before, but there is something about the book that makes me know I will love it until the end of time (or at least until the next Halloween book I get my paws on).
