Read for CBR10 Bingo: Genre I don’t typically read.
I feel like Ron Swanson in his famous commercial for Parks and Recreation…
“Read ‘What If? Serious Scientific Answers to Absurd Hypothetical Questions.’ Or do not. I am not a beggar. (checks watch) Review over.”
Ach, but I have 100 words left to go. Okay, here’s the deal. I’m not a science guy. I’m not anti-science. Though I am a Christian, I subscribe to the theory of evolution. Climate change keeps me awake at night. But I just don’t have an interest in reading about science for enrichment or leisure.
However, since I had to do so for this book challenge and my local library’s summer reading one, here is my review: if you like knowing random stuff about absurd questions and facts of science, this book is for you. It’s written in an endearing way, though I do find the writer condescending at times, that could just be my own indifference to what he’s talking about. It was tough to get through but it was an easy book and you learn a lot.
