On a very hot day in the jungle a sudden cool breeze makes an appearance. However, jaguar has something important to do, yet wants to take advantage of the rare treat. He asks the coati to help him by waking him up in 10 minutes. However, the coati also wants to take a siesta…. And the story goes along from there.
The fact the animals of the jungle are shown is a fun learning tool. What is a coati? What is a sloth? The curious can go and learn more about these and other animals. The story itself is relatable to the adult (who has not needed a 10-minute siesta but does not want to miss that important thing, too?) and those of us who have quirky sense of humor will wonder, do sloths really snore like that?
Over all this is a nice site down and read book. There is nothing more than a good, simple story. There is no real lesson, or even a lot of facts on these animals. You could use it (as mentioned) to peak the curiosity of a child to want to learn more about the animals in the story, but at the same time you can just enjoy a funny story about a bunch of friends who really want to help each other, but have a little trouble.
The illustrations will not appeal to all pallets, but there is a certain uniqueness to them that does make them perfect for the text.
