Celebrity memoirs are also usually very helpful to keep my mind off turbulence, but unfortunately this one sort of… sucks.
So, Clinton Kelly is the guy from What Not to Wear. He’s had a few other reality TV shows, too, but I haven’t heard of any of them. You may have. This may be one of the least interesting celebrity memoirs I’ve ever read. He basically picked like 10 stories from his life and wrote about them without connecting them in anyway or making them feel relevant at all. In one chapter he very briefly discusses his relationship with Stacy London from What Not to Wear. That probably could have been quite juicy but he chose to be classy (and therefore boring). There’s a short chapter about a bad experience with Paula Deen. A couple of chapters about his boyfriend (who seems nice! but maybe also dull). One very good chapter, which saved this from a one-star rating, about hanging out with his best friend and making shit up. Overall it was just a dull book. He used to be a writer for magazines, and I sort of see that in the style of the writing. If the stories have been more interesting I think the writing style would have shone more. Instead it was just a collection of uninteresting stories by a decent writer.
