I am so behind on my reviews, guys! Help!
“My name is Mary Katherine Blackwood. I am eighteen years old, and I live with my sister Constance. I have often thought that with any luck at all, I could have been born a werewolf, because the two middle fingers on both my hands are the same length, but I have had to be content with what I had. I dislike washing myself, and dogs, and noise. I like my sister Constance, and Richard Plantagenet, and Amanita phalloides, the death-cup mushroom. Everyone else in our family is dead.”
So that pretty much summarizes Merricat, who lives in the big house outside town with her sister Constance, and their Uncle Julian. Everyone else in their family is dead.
A few other people have reviewed this here, and we all kind of stop at that point because to say more would spoil a freaking awesome tale of suspense. I just want to add that I loved Merricat. Maybe I wasn’t supposed to — probably not. But I loved her. She’s so smart and spunky and delightfully weird. Also, I listened to the audio version and highly recommend it!
