Spoilers for Volume 1.
The second volume of The Wicked + The Divine only continues to amaze and surprise. I’m so glad I’ve finally found a series I can properly fangirl over. In this volume, Laura, the main character, is dealing with her grief over the surprising and tragic death of Lucifer, the god she grew close to in the first installment. She’s clearly numb to the rest of the world and the rest of the gods until she’s pulled back in by some new information about Lucy’s death.
I’m very pleasantly surprised by the depth and variety of emotions portrayed in a short graphic novel. Not only is Laura dealing with grief and isolation, but she’s also working through feelings of jealousy, confusion, and love.
Just like in V1, the artwork is stunningly beautiful!!!! I would legit frame some of these pages because wow. I will also say, just like volume 1, this one ends on a major cliffhanger. Unfortunately volume 3 isn’t due to be released until February. What am I even going to do with my time?!
