The Craftiest of Pensioners

The Bullet that Missed by Richard Osman

March 27, 2023 by Melina Leave a Comment

The Bullet That Missed is the 3rd in the series of the Thursday Murder Club Mysteries. I adore the characters and I can never get enough of them working through their difficult cases that often overlap other cases. This one starts as all the others do. The gang gets together to choose a cold case to hopefully solve when Elizabeth also receives word from a mysterious man telling her that she must kill a retired Russian agent who was once her lover or her best […]

More Murders or Not and some Thursday Club hook-ups and hang-ups

The Bullet that Missed by Richard Osman

I missed episode two of the Thursday Murder Club, but I don’t think it caused me too much issue with following The Bullet That Missed (book 3). Same general gang but it seems like most everyone who was single in book 1 is pairing off in book 3, and nearly everyone has some big secret they don’t tell the others. I’ve also noticed there seems to be this emphasis on a lower level bad guy/gal turning good, or at least helpful. IT’s the secret-keeping that […]

The Man Who Died Twice by Richard Osman

The Bullet That Missed by Richard Osman

Thanks to this group, 2022 was the year in which I discovered Elizabeth, Joyce, Ron, and Ibrahim, otherwise known as the Thursday Murder Club. The Club has a few other members. Donna and Chris, sometimes Bogdan, and even Alan. And I cannot read about their adventures quickly enough. Why aren’t there 90 books about these people? For the very few who do not know, the Thursday Murder Club is a group of seniors who live in a retirement community and review unsolved murder cases in […]

“At one point he brushed my hand and there was electricity, but I think that was the combination of the deep carpet outside the restaurant and my new cardigan.”

The Bullet That Missed (The Thursday Murder Club, #3) by Richard Osman

I don’t know how much more I can continue to say about these books, as my love for them is not diminishing but only growing, and the books are so consistent with what I love about them, I don’t want to just be saying the same things every time a new one is published. But I guess I’m going to anyway! Sorry. But not really. Our four septuagenarians are still at it, solving murders on Thursdays, and hopefully things have calmed down after the chaos […]
