2022 Stats update!

January 11, 2023 by ingres77 6 Comments

Sorry for the delay. For perhaps the first time ever, I actually had the database complete on January 1st….and then life happened, and I haven’t actually looked at it until today. As always, my numbers may be slightly off from this website (or your own personal tallies). At this point, I’ve automated most of the database, so there may be some errors in how things are counted. I don’t physically check everything in the database to confirm accuracy (so, for instance, V.E. Schwab and Victoria […]

2021 Year End Round-Up!

by ingres77

January 8, 2022 by ingres77 12 Comments

We’ve wrapped up yet another year of the Cannonball Read! Everyone give yourself a pat on the back for all that you’ve reviewed, and remember to give yourself a pass for the things that you didn’t review. There’s no pressure, here. I want to make this more aesthetically digestible, but it’s late and I’m tired. So I’ll just cut the introduction short. There were 5,394 reviews written for CBR13. That’s a record! Of those reviews, there are 3,097 unique books/stories. Our top 10 (14) most […]

2020 stats round-up!

by ingres77

January 17, 2021 by ingres77 20 Comments

There are times in life when you’re riding pretty high. You think well of yourself. Any task is within your reach. Oh, you’re almost 40 years old and want to learn how to play a musical instrument for the first time in your life? Sure, why not? Pick up that guitar and start teaching yourself. Oh, you drifted through six years of learning the Russian language and walked away knowing only a handful of phrases and the first stanza to one song? Sure, sign […]

Midyear 2020 Stats!

by ingres77

August 4, 2020 by ingres77 11 Comments

Ain’t no party, like a hurricane party ’cause a hurricane party don’t…Yeah, I’m not having a hurricane party. I put the kids to bed, filled my tummy with Wendy’s, and am watching fail videos on Youtube. Close enough, I guess. All is good here (though my kids’ trampoline was ripped from its anchors and rolled over by the wind. The safety netting was damaged, but I was able to force it back into a reasonably normal position). Anyway…This stats update is through the first week […]

2019 CBR11 stats update!

January 27, 2020 by ingres77 6 Comments

So, I sat down to compile the 2019 stats the other day anticipating a week and a half of drudgery. Drudgery I would get some degree of nerd pleasure out of, but still drudgery. Only to discover that – none of my XML formula’s (that I use to harvest data from this website, which I then turn into the CBR database) worked. So I pulled up the home page, and find that everything looks different. Uh oh. After verifying my code strings, and making a […]

Hey look, I did a thing. After eight months….. 2019 STATS!

August 9, 2019 by ingres77 10 Comments

As some of you may have noticed, we’re doing something a little different this year. Namely, I have a new baby in the house (she’s currently mewling at me from her swing, refusing to go to sleep), and don’t have the time for the monthly updates. So I instead wanted to focus on quarterly updates (which I think I did last year). That turned into a half-year update….and here I am in August finally getting around to it. But – and this is the good […]
