Probably one of my top ten favorite Kings?

Okay, now that I’ve slept on this a couple of days, I think my final thoughts are that this is a nearly perfect horror novel (hence the 4.5 stars, rounded up). I say nearly because there were a couple of moments that really didn’t age well. But most of it still holds up unbelievably well. I picked up Murder with Fried Chicken and Waffles since it was a Mocha Girls Read book club pick. I LOVE COZY MYSTERIES! Whether it’s on Hallmark or the page, I’m usually interested in it. This series has a catchy title format using Murder with X FOOD. The author even includes several recipes as the book is set in a popular soul food restaurant in Prince George’s County, Maryland. The day I finished reading this book, the news broke that SyFy had optioned The Expanse as a TV show. It was quite auspicious timing, especially since the third book had done wonders for my excitement over the future of this series. Abaddon’s Gate is the third book in James S.A.
