Enough really is Enough

Nat Enough by Maria Scrivan

October 1, 2023 by reginadelmar Leave a Comment

So this review is out of my comfort zone. While on a weekend getaway I wandered into a bookstore and got several book recommendations, including  Maria Scrivan’s Nat Enough.  I asked about graphic novels and the owner steered  me into the children’s section. I haven’t read any books directed at kids recently besides Harry Potter and Neil Gaiman’s The Graveyard Book. It was a fun read, and seems unlikely to cause any parents to get into an uproar. Natalie is starting middle school. She is […]

Dual Review Just for You …. And you and you and you ….

Nat Enough V03: Absolutely Nat by Maria Scrivan

Sunny Makes a Splash Volume 4 by Jennifer L. Holm

October 12, 2021 by BlackRaven Leave a Comment

In Maria Scrivan’s books, her plucky main character, Nat, gets up to lots of everyday, growing up issues. This time, Nat’s adventures continue at summer camp in Nat Enough V03: Absolutely Nat. And while things do not go horribly wrong, there are bumps in the road for her. She learns this time that fear is okay to have, if you do not let it stop you. This, along with friendship issues, funny camp adventures and some interesting confessions, make up a fun new story by […]

Nat your friend, but you probably want her to be

Forget Me Nat (Nat Enough V02) by Maria Scrivan

January 20, 2021 by BlackRaven Leave a Comment

In many ways, Forget Me Nat (Nat Enough V02) is better and funnier than the first book. Maria Scrivan continues the adventures of our hero Natalie (or Nat) and her friends. The second half of the year has started, but the crush Nat has only continued to get stronger. And yes, we have some rose colored glasses, a best friend into a little gossip, another best friend into running for class president and a whole lot of hijinks, humor, and several people with hurt feelings. […]

Jello-Frogs and The Weird Ones

Nat Enough V01 Nat Enough by Maria Scrivan

January 4, 2021 by BlackRaven 1 Comment

Nat Enough (book one in the Nat Enough series) I thought was by another author/illustrator when I first looked at it. But it is by Maria Scrivan. This was the last book I read in 2020. It was a fun way to end the year. The story is familiar (fitting in at school, friendship pains and finding yourself) but that is what made it a good end of the year read. It was cozy and no real surprises. The ages it is aimed at (strong […]
