20th Century Ghosts by Joe Hill

The Green Man by Kingsley Amis

April 29, 2021 by vel veeter Leave a Comment

20th Century Ghosts – 3/5 Stars Decidedly a mixed bag for me on this first collection of Joe Hill stories. What’s interesting in part is that the ways in which this book is talked about on the cover, in the introduction, and other places really seems to indicate that they weren’t sure Joe Hill was going to make it, or wanted people to take him seriously. The Old Devils by Kingsley Amis

September 17, 2019 by vel veeter Leave a Comment

Episode 1-23: Sometimes Your Words Just Hypnotize Me

June 18, 2018 by prisco Leave a Comment

https://killingmykindle.com/2018/06/18/episode-1-23-sometimes-your-words-just-hypnotize-me/ Wherein I review: 88. Lucky Jim by Kingsley Amis 89. Don’t Let Go by Harlan Coben 90. Wolf Lake (Dave Gurney #5) by John Verdon I read a university literary romp where I hate every character, then I travel to New Jersey for a decades long murder mystery involving an old Nike Missile base, and then we go on the worst vacation since Ed Helms’ mistake with Dave Gurney that involves hypnotism and completely abandoning your previous character development for the sake of plot.
