My Dear Dodson

I have not read Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes work so I’m only half familiar with the many references here and in other knockoffs. I get “Dodson” as “Watson” and this being a take on The Hound of the Baskervilles but beyond that, anything else was beyond me.  This is Joe Ide’s debut novel, and if – like the book copy says – it’s “inspired by his early experiences,” then I’m guessing his life is about a thousand times more eventful than mine.  It’s all for the good though, since it helped him create this book.
