Well, Well, Well

The Well of Ascension by Brandon Sanderson

August 14, 2026 by G.D. Giant Leave a Comment

“The Well of Ascension” is the second book in the original Mistborn trilogy by Brandon Sanderson. And it’s a very good, very solid middle book for a trilogy. We get some answers to earlier mysteries, and we get some new mysteries. We get a light smattering of war as well as more political intrigue. We get some deeper character development, along with additional world building. And we get some more characters, but also lose some more characters. Book 1, “Mistborn,” saw Kelsier and his crew […]

Mists and Mystery

Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson

July 30, 2026 by G.D. Giant Leave a Comment

Mistborn, by Brandon Sanderson, is Book One of the Mistborn Original Trilogy. Although I read a good amount of fantasy, I have, for some reason, never read any Brandon Sanderson. But, since this year is the 20th anniversary of the original publication of Mistborn, I thought I’d give it a shot. And I’m glad I did. Mistborn is a very good book. The world-building is phenomenal, from the political system to the actual sad, gray, ash-covered lands. The magic system is new and interesting, and […]
