CBR6 #1 Premeditated

January 5, 2014 by Aquillia Leave a Comment

Dinah Powell enrolls in Lowry, a new (and prestigious) school, after her cousin Claire falls into a coma. She dyes her hair back to blonde, removes her piercings, and puts on her most winning smile to take over Claire’s life. She wears the clothes Claire would have worn, makes the friends Claire would have made – and  meets the boy Claire did meet, the one who ruined her life, the one who destroyed her. Dinah found Claire’s diary, all about Brooks, the boy from Lowry […]

The start of the coolest witch in Discworld

January 5, 2014 by MyySharona 2 Comments

I only started reading the Discworld series a few years ago. I was up late at night, trying to think of things to buy for my new Kindle, and faced with the problem I always have when shopping for entertainment: What in the hell am I supposed to buy? All ideas tend to run from me in that situation, which explains some of my past purchases made completely out of desperation. But anyway

Probably no one will be surprised when they hear that I am finished with What I Did for a Duke and only about ten percent done with Walden. Anyway, I’m very pleased to say that Mrs. Julien and I now have one romance novel that we both really like! I keep […]

A dismal view of marriage

January 5, 2014 by Valyruh Leave a Comment

This debut novel is a complex read, which looks at three deeply screwed-up marriages largely from the uncomprehending standpoint of the husbands, two of whom are detectives investigating the possible murder of his spouse by the third husband. Adding a little spice to it all is the fact that one of the detectives is the former Dr. Sam Sheppard, the (in)famous real-life doctor who spent a decade in jail for the bludgeoning to death of his own pregnant wife, who was then released following a […]

Farandola? I barely know ya!

January 5, 2014 by Robyn Robotron Leave a Comment

You know how you have a book from your childhood that you cherish that made a real impact on you and you decide to finally read the sequel as an adult and you’re left disappointed?  It’s kind of like that.
