A coworker suggested this book to me at work. For some horrific reason, Goodreads didn’t know that I already read it. I think it’s even possible that my coworker suggested it to me a few years ago, I read it, didn’t update Goodreads, and then she suggested it to me again, so I read it again. I’m sure everyone her can relate to this – I read so many books that I cannot personally keep track of which books I’ve read. That’s what Senor Goodreads is for! I’m not sure how he missed this, but I fully blame him!
Anyway, I read the first like third of the book with a looming sense of déjà vu. I just searched through the last 10 cannonball reads I participated in to see if I could steal some words from myself, but alas, I did not review it the first time either. I’m wondering if I actually did read this book? I’m like pretty sure I did.
So this book starts with a murder. The story feels a little like Midsommer Murders, the British murder mystery show. Cozy British scenes, small towns, everyone knows everyone, quirky characters. That was not a sentence, and for that I am sorry. I wanted to continue this series, but I keep missing my hold from the library because I’m reading something else! Four stars.
