If you want a fun collection of seasonal stories with many facts, fun and activities, A Year in Nature: A collection of stories for every season (Seasons in the wild) is the book you need. Diversity in characters, ages, genders, sexualities, presentation, and more fill the pages of Sean Taylor, Alex Morss and Cinyee Chiu’s book. There is a little bit of everything as you learn about the wonders of the season they are talking and illustrating about. There are plenty of extras in the chapter section as well as after the book’s stories are completed. This allows you to expand your child’s imagination and involvement with nature as they grow.
Granted, if you read a lot of books or stories about the seasons, nothing really new is revealed, but it is the way they are presented that keeps this fresh and fun. It is cute, clever and fun. I read via an online reader copy, but would like to get a finished copy just to feel how it came out. The size is of interest as the online images make it feel as if it is an unusual squared book. This is not so hard as it was published in February 2026 and I read it in April 2026.

Even though Autumn is my season and like winter as it’s my birth season, I couldn’t pick a favorite part. They are all equally good in their own ways. This is partly due to the fact they have really bright colors, a good amount of details included and are both a bit cartoon-illustrated with realistic overtones so it gives it a lighthearted feeling. I admit I did skip the more technical and factual parts of things, but I do recommend reading them when the time is right for your reader.
