I like animals. I like books. And I like books about animals. This is mostly because while I like animals, I do not have the time to take care of them, so reading is the next best thing. And when it comes to books, I like introducing them to young listeners and readers, such as the publisher Barefoot Books.
Barefoot Books has a boat load of goodies from board books to full on picture books which include fiction and nonfiction titles. Two of those that I read, which are board books for the baby to toddler crowd, are about baby animals called Know & Grow series. Two of those books are about Bunnies and Puppies.

First Bunnies Know & Grow (Baby Animals) by Laura Gehl and illustrated by Amy Schimler-Safford talks about how bunnies love snuggling with their siblings, hopping, munching on lettuce (and they let us know how old the bunnies need to be for this to happen) and there is so much for young bunnies, and children, to learn! This book is perfect for animal-loving babies and curious toddlers.
And of course, the Puppies Know & Grow (same creators) is all about puppies. And all the cute things they do. And the images in both are simple, colorful, not too bold, pastel images. There are not a lot of details, things are centered on the bunny or puppy and that particular action. Both titles are currently available and I have read them via an online reader and a physical book form. You can also get the books in Spanish-English. Plus, soon there will be Kittens Know & Grow and Chicks Know & Grow both due out September 2026.
