Well hello there. About midway through February I caught THE worst cold I’ve ever had. I ended up going to the doctor because I was pretty sure it had to have turned into bronchitis or pneumonia, but, nope. Just a cold. If that’s what colds are like now, I shudder to think what the more serious winter illnesses are like.
So, I spent about a week in bed drinking tea, watching Bridgerton, and coughing, which was all I had the energy to do. Then my husband caught my cold, and his DID turned into bronchitis, so that was fun (he’s better now). As a result, I have a few books that I finished in February but didn’t have the time or energy to review, so I’ll just put them in March and hope for the best.
As I was looking over the short list of titles I finished last month, I realized that none of them were really my “favorite.” They were all very good, and I appreciated them but nothing jumps out as “best.” They were just….good, in different ways and for different reasons.
And that’s fine. I had a pleasant reading month, and I got to share it with you, and that’s all that matters.
If forced to pick, I’d have to go with Ayesha at Last, because I learned so much about Muslim communities in Toronto, which is something I knew nothing about before I read the book.
Time to March onward. Hopefully with no more colds. I’m out of both tea and Bridgerton.
