Again. This was bonkers in a good way. I re-read this book three times this weekend because it’s just so good. I know Strange Buildings is coming out next year and I can’t wait. I loved this plot and I didn’t see a thing coming that we got. I think this one was definitely more in the horror side of the realm than Strange Houses (just cause of the ending) but honestly I loved them both to bits and I would recommend running out to get both of these in paperback.
Strange Pictures follows us as Uketsu takes us down a plot that at first does not seem connected but is, we get nine strange pictures to dissect and wonder at their connections as we follow a student who comes across a mysterious blog, a reporter who is interested in who murdered his teacher, a single mother, and then of course another reporter who is out for redemption.
I loved this. Again this is an immersive read that I don’t want to give away. I was telling a friend today that it just felt great to read and turn my brain off for three hours as I turned things upside down and even tried to sketch to get at the mystery of this new book. I was zero percent correct by the way (which I loved) and just cheered at the solutions and the ending.
