April is National Poetry Month. I have so much respect for poets. No writing seems harder to me than writing a poem. I would never, ever attempt to write a poem Although, I must confess that I have written the occasional horrible Haiku. But wait, there is one type of poetry anybody who can read can write: Book Spine Poetry. The idea is very simple. Create a poem using book titles. Here are a few I wrote:
- One Italian Summer
- Killers of the Flower Moon
- Uprooted
- The Boys in the Boat
- And Then There Were None
- Wait Till Next Year
- Sundays at Tiffany’s
- Mister Monday
- Tuesdays with Morrie
- Wacky Wednesday
- The Thursday Murder Club
- Freaky Friday
- The View from Saturday
- Seven Days of Us
- In Five Years
- You Are Here
- When No One Is Watching
- Ask Again, Yes
- So This Is Ever After
- If Only It Were True
- One of Us is Back
- 10 Truths and a Dare
- A Hundred Vicious Turns
- A Thousand Steps into Night
- A Million Junes
- The Eternal Ones
As usual, I don’t want to be the only one having this much fun. Create your own Book Spine Poems, and put them in the comments below.
