Relation”ship” cbr15bingo Because SHIPwrecks!
I officially did not finish the book, Shipwrecked!: Diving for Hidden Time Capsules on the Ocean Floor. But I did get about halfway through before I realized I really could not finish. There is a lot of technical science and that is not my thing. It can be text heavy, and I needed a more uninterrupted setting to read. However, what I did read was really very good.
Things are heavy on the facts, the information and the technology. If you have someone interested in the ocean, science technology, technology in general, archaeology, or ships and/or shipwrecks it would be perfect. There are photographs of cannons, artifacts, even human remains! And if you are into history at all, there is a lot of that too. Not to mention the fact that the author covers wrecks from around the world. For at least ages ten and up. Read via an online reader copy, and I am curious about the final format. This will depend if a more “coffee table/picture book format” could deter older readers. However, if you want to know how Clive Cussler, famous adult author (among other things) has to do with shipwrecks and such, you need to read as an adult as well.
Martin W. Sandler’s information covers everything and anything you need to know. People, places, ships and more explode on the page. Photographs, side panels, even scuba diving history. I skimmed a few pages (as best as one can with an online copy) and realized that this is going to be a strong book, but one that needs to be pushed.
Due late October 2023/early November 2023 you will travel through time and the world in about 150 pages! Includes source notes and a few other extras. Also good to pair with The Last Unexplored Place on Earth: Investigating the Ocean Floor with Alvin the Submersible, which I am reading and having similar issues with all the technical information.
