OK so this is literally the Thursday after the end of the first book. Like I said – I fell in love with these characters. I want to be in the Thursday Murder Club. I feel like I’d be a snack contributor though. These people have contacts and make connections that are really impressive! I could make really impressive snacks!
We start out with Elizabeth getting a letter from her ex-husband, who is supposed to be dead.
Sidebar – I love how in all of these books something crazy or secret happens to Elizabeth, and the people involved are like “don’t tell anyone”, and she’s like “I’m definitely telling the Thursday Murder Club”, and they’re like “oh I guess that’s fine” because they know you can’t really tell Elizabeth no!
There’s a central murder / mystery / subsequent murder / adventure involving a diamond heist, mobsters, murder threats, and other fun stuff.
Somehow they loop in Chris and Donna, who are trying to catch a (also really fun) drug dealer named Connie. Chris starts dating Donna’s mom, who sounds awesome, and Ron’s grandson Kendrick comes for a visit. I thought I couldn’t love these people more than I did in the first book, but I was so wrong! They’re just very sharp and caring and awesome people.
Again they switch back and forth between people and situations, and I love it. I am not joking that this makes me so mad in other books, but I just love everyone in these books, so I want to hear what they’re all up to!
Please please please read these books!
