It is time to celebrate 15 years of Cannonball Read with some fun. We challenge you to write a 15-word review for a book in the comments below.
The rules: The review must be exactly 15 words, not including the title or author’s name. It can be a book you have already reviewed on the site or something new. You can do as many as you want. Only post your review as a comment to this post. (It won’t count on the Leaderboard.)
Be creative!
Here are a few I wrote to get us started:
The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman
Who knew that a bunch of British senior citizens could be such funny, amateur sleuths?
Drive Your Plow Over the Bones of the Dead by Olga Tokarczuk
Book stunk, finished it anyway so I could talk about it with my book club.
The Sympathizer by Viet Thanh Nguyen
Must have been a really bad year for this to have won the Pulitzer Prize.
(OK, I will stop now, even though I could probably write these all day.)
How about matching your 15-word review with a $15 donation? As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Cannonball Read relies on the generous support of readers like you. Check to see if your employer will match your $15, or set up a monthly donation of any denomination. Any amount helps, thanks!
