The author stated that this book was inspired by the 90s afternoon Disney cartoon, Gargoyles, but sexy, and I said “How fast can I read this?” The answer is one afternoon!
Grace is a witch who has had several bad dates, so she decides to seek out a paranormal matchmaker. She is set up on a date with a gargoyle, Elliot. What Elliot doesn’t tell Grace or the matchmaker is that he is already mated. To two other gargoyles. He just feels that something is missing and that something is definitely Grace. She falls for Elliot, then inevitably finds out about his mates, and the whole thing comes crashing down. Until they patch it up, because this is a Why Choose romance. The other two male love interests are adorable, and I started to fall for them as fast as Grace did. I’m a sucker for a big broody monster or an artist.
This book was SPICY, even by monster smut standards. You will become intimately familiar with knotting and what kind of fun gargoyles can have with their tails. I did love that the female main character was plus-sized, and the gargoyles didn’t love her despite it, but because of it. There was also a subplot about a shitty stalker ex-boyfriend, and who doesn’t love watching one of those get taken down a peg?
