*Audiobook Review*
Floriane is the Forge Maiden of Hunter’s Hamlet. She holds this revered position because only she and her mother know how to smith silver into weapons to fight the Vampire raids on their town that happen every Full Moon. The novel starts on the night of the Blood Moon when every 500 years, the Vampire Lord can come through the veil and attack Hunter’s Hamlet. Legend tells that when the Vampire Lord is killed that the vampire attacks will stop, so Florian’s brother tries to kill him. Floriane is able to save her brother from dying at the hands of the Vampire Lord, Ruvan, but she is kidnapped and taken through the veil to the world of Midscape where she learns the truth about the Vampires.
This was my least favorite of the Married to Magic series so far. I felt that the romance was a little rushed, and there were parts that were repetitive or dragged on for too long. Don’t get me wrong, I still enjoyed it, but I definitely enjoyed the other two books much more. This book just had much more exposition to get through. I definitely recommend the audiobook version. Elizabeth Evans is one of my favorite narrators. She also did the Crescent City and Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas, and I have just fallen in love with her voice. She manages to do a sexy husky male voice without making it silly. Read this book if you enjoy sexy vampires, funny side characters, badass female protagonists, or fantastical romance.
