I saw on Viz that new chapters had been releasing and looked into when a new volume was due out. Turns out Volume 12 was already released. Where? Hell if I know. I couldn’t find it. But thankfully Viz, for only $1.99/mo., lets you read seemingly all that you want in their manga library, and that includes those Chainsaw Man chapters. So, since I refuse to wait for the physical copy to read it, I read it on my phone. Not the best way to read it, mind you, but whatever. Beggars can’t be choosers and all that. Onto the volume itself, I don’t know what to make of it. It feels very post-Chainsaw Man Chainsaw Man. Denji, Chainsaw Man himself, is but a side character in this volume. Our main character is a girl at the school he’s attending who’s being controlled by a devil intent upon killing Denji. You know, like everybody and their mother. And there’s a talking chicken. Plus some other demons, friendships, bullying, etc. It’s a bit… messy. As it’s the beginning of a completely new arc, one with Denji going to school to stay in hiding, yet wanting to out himself the whole time against everybody else’s wishes (because boobs), I’ll forgive the roughness. Hopefully things get back to normal sooner rather than later. I’ve read another chapter that released today, which’ll be part of the next volume (whenever that comes out), though, and… I’m still not sure about it.
I’m impatient…
