30 Books in 30 Days, Vol. 2
Book 19/30
I somehow missed reviewing this book, even though I reviewed the two books in this series I read after this one. How that happened, no idea. Let’s see if I can even remember what happened in this book without getting events from later (or previous) books mixed up in it.
I know this was the one where Kate starts her own business, and business is not doing great, until some guy asks her to look into some thing that is so dangerous nobody else wants to do it. This is the one where Ascanio is introduced? And the one with the magic bomb? Honestly, the main thing that I remember about this one was the introduction of the witches, and the Volhvs, which I did find extremely amusing. I really don’t remember much about interpersonal dynamics in this one. Oh well.
I liked this, obviously, as the four star rating would imply, but I do continue to like the worldbuilding and the plotting and the friendships and family dynamics more than I like the central Kate/Curran romance, which might be a problem going forward. Maybe I’ll like that guy eventually.
Next time, I need to review right away because all the events from this series do tend to run together for me for some reason.
