-Wendy Mass, The Candymakers and the Great Chocolate Chase
The Candymakers and the Great Chocolate Chase by Wendy Mass is the sequel to The Candymakers (see my review of The Candymakers here). It’s a good sequel that seamlessly blends the perspectives of Logan, Miles, Philip, and Daisy.
WARNING – THIS CONTAINS SPOILERS TO THE CANDYMAKERS.
It’s been a few months since the nationwide New Candy Contest, and everything is back to normal. The first Harmonicandy is rolling down the conveyor belt and everyone (except Daisy who has a very busy life) is there to see it. But, at the debut of the Harmonicandy, Logan takes his first bite and realizes that something is very wrong with the candy bar…
When the Candymaker (Logan’s dad) says that they are all going on a debut road trip of the Harmonicandy (don’t worry, Daisy can make it this time) the four young candy makers realize that this is the perfect time to discover what is wrong with the Harmonicandy, fix it, and get it up and running.
This was a great book. I don’t think I liked it better than the first, but it was still a pretty good sequel. I would recommend this book if you liked the first one, and this series if you enjoyed Escape From Mr. Lemonchello’s Library. This series is fun, sweet, interesting and full of candy. Lots of candy. Great book, but I don’t recommend reading it if you’re hungry!
