I have been reading several science-based books of late. I am not sure why, but I have found several books I have enjoyed. And one that I knew I would like before I ever read (as I have not found a book in the series I have not liked) was Magical History Tour #10: The First Steps on the Moon V10 by Fabrice Erre and illustrated by Sylvain Savoia.
This time we follow our narrators Annie and Nico as they learn about the historic First Steps on the Moon and the men and women that made it possible. Some details I have read before in other books, but some were new. And both were interesting. There were some pieces of information that did not seem important but helped show the larger picture.
The Magical History Tour series is an introduction to the theme presented. Ages 8 and up can enjoy as we see in a story format, but packed with facts, how the subject came to be. Space is usually a fairly popular subject, but not only do you see some of the technical you are seeing the history of not just this country, but the world. Not only will this work in a classroom setting, but it would also be a good book for the one-on-one reader (or with assistance).
The illustrations are simple, but not simplistic and compliment the text. Not overly flashy or colorful, their simplistic helps you to focus on the story and yet, still have a reference point.
Coming late August/early September 2022.
