This story follows the path of two young women, who were born centuries apart but somehow connected by a prophecy. In this prophecy there will be a Sun Queen, the savior of all, and the Blood Queen, who will bring about desctruction. The book bounces back and forth between the two main characters and timelines. I confess that did take some adjusting to in the beginning, especially because the chapters are short. Because its the first in the trilogy, it is slow in the begining as the author focuses on building these two worlds. Once I hit the halfway point in the book, the action starts to pick up and I couldn’t put it down. I’m also a sucker for strong female characters. Looking forward to reading the next in the series.
I read this in one sitting!
