Dark Halls

Dark Halls by Jeff Menapace

November 28, 2020 by fablespeak Leave a Comment

Looking for a quick, freaky and fun read? Check out “Dark Halls” by Jeff Menapace. I finished this book in about 4 days – both because I couldn’t put it down and because it was a quick read.
Ryan Herb is a teacher still living with his mother. He accepts a job at Pinewood Elementary despite a very odd interview in which he is told about a horrid and sadistic history about the school he is soon to be employed at (previously known as Highland Elementary and previously burned to the ground). Ryan, being wonderfully logical, accepts the job without concern.

Almost immediately, things start happening at the school. Teachers and students either get hurt or are killed. During all of this, Ryan has time to enter into a relationship with another teacher named Rebecca during the wonton killing going on at this elementary school. Unfortunately, unknown to both Ryan and Rebcecca, Rebecca’s mother, Carol, has a secret. She’s sort of a witch with an evil, powerful heart of a previous witch in her possession. She has been using this ancient organ to torture and kill children and teachers at the elementary school – why, you might ask? Because she’s evil. Where’s she been keeping it, you might ask? In her late husband’s urn.

Looking for a suspenseful horror thriller in which every chapter ends on a cliff hanger – check this one out! Does have some sexual scenes in it – FYI.

I am a medical professional and I also HATE cancer. I LOVE to read. My bookshelf is overflowing as I frequently buy books and add them to the shelf to read later. I live in Illinois with my husband and my three dogs. View fablespeak's reviews»
