Go Me! My goal this year was for one and a half Cannonballs so I have been deemed successful in my endeavors for 2015!
I read Assassination Vacation a few weeks ago and it took me forever to get into it; once I got rolling I enjoyed it- for the most part. I never go into the Wordy Shipmates. I actually started reading this one around Thanksgiving (how appropriate) and had to put it down because I was going cross-eyed trying to stay focused. As it is, I probably only read and comprehended half of the book.
Basically, Puritans were upset about the religious regime changes in England and they sought a new world in America where they proceeded to be assholes to the Indians It’s nothing you don’t know from basic American History classes in middle school but it delves a bit deeper into the lives of John Cotton, John Winthrop & Anne Hutchinson as well as the Massachusetts colony that brought death and destruction to Pequots.
Colonists were assholes, but we already knew that.
