Of the four books I reviewed yesterday, two were awful, one was alright, and one was great. I did not really hold anything back in my reviews of the bad ones. Is it so hard to do a little research and avoid terrible tired clichés? Apparently, yes, yes it is. So I feel fully justified in getting my rant on. Also some swears. Consider yourself warned.
Review 5: One Night of Danger, Clara Bayard; 3 stars; trigger warning for abusive relationships, discussion thereof.
Review 6: Taming the Alpha, Adriana Hunter; 1 star; trigger warning for child rape and emotional abuse, mention thereof; some swearing.
Review 7: The Kite Runner, Khaled Hosseini; 5 stars; quite pretentious but otherwise trauma and swearing free.
Review 8: Dark Witch, Nora Roberts; 1 star; lots of swearing. It’s harsh enough that I actually feel slightly guilty, but at the same time, I do feel pretty strongly about the things that I pulled the book up on, so while I got a bit frothy I was at least detailed as to why, and hopefully was entertaining with it. If you like rage-filled rants about spelling and history, anyway.
