Impuse Buys Aren’t Always a Bad Idea

If nothing else, this book is a strong indication as to why I am pretty much constantly broke.

I’m glad someone liked this book, as I’m due to start it next week on audiobook (because Jack Davenport yum), and everyone else I know has been very disappointed in it.

JACK DAVENPORT READS THE AUDIOBOOK?! Well now I’m clearly going to have to listen to that…

Oh, interesting. I read The Thirteenth Tale in December. I’ve heard there’s a movie in the works, with Vanessa Redgrave planned to star (which makes complete sense). Gothic literature doesn’t particularly call to me, but I found the book an enjoyable read. This sounds intriguing…not something I’d buy new, but something I’d buy secondhand.

I’m glad you liked it. It didn’t work for me, but I agree her actual writing is amazing. I loved the parts about rooks, and her words definitely sucked me in, I just didn’t feel like they went anywhere in the end. I think it is the beauty of her writing that disappointed me all the more when the story was weak in comparison.
