This is the sixth Cannonball Read (CBR) honoring Amanda “AlabamaPink” Amos, our fierce warrior queen who lost her battle with cancer in 2009. She was a true Pajiban, filled with eloquence and sass.
Cannonballers since that time have read over 7,000 books in her memory. This site has become a virtual book club where participants read what they want, write what they want, and say what they want. We invite you to visit us often, even if you aren’t planning to register. (But you really should!)
In recent years we’ve started adding our amazon.com affiliate link to our reviews, with proceeds going to benefit the American Cancer society. To date we’ve raised over $600. Thanks to all of you who purchased from the links on the reviews on Pajiba. This year you’ll be able to get to the book on amazon right from the reviews here on this site, and 100% of the revenue gets donated. We have also added *gasp* advertisements to the blog, and revenue from every pageview and click gets donated in entirety as well.
I’ll never get tired of shilling the links, and I’ll always be grateful for you, my lovely Cannonballers.
There is nothing fucking cheesy about being thankful. So there. Having said that, despite the entirely crazy and frustrating year that I have had, I have an enormous amount of things to be thankful for. And I could totally blabber on about each and every one, but here are my biggies. ~Little Pink and Mr. Pink. They are my rocks. Except way cuter. ~Grammy and Pappy Pink. You never know how much you need your parents until, well, you need them. I am also thankful they live in the same city. ~My surprisingly huge network of friends that popped up so quickly, like mushrooms in my yard after a rainstorm, to support me and love me and carry me through this bullshit. You guys rock. And you know who you are, rock stars. — AlabamaPink
