Deadpool Does D&D

How to Become the Dark Lord and Die Trying by Django Wexler

May 31, 2024 by CoffeeShopReader Leave a Comment

Imagine if you took Deadpool, made him a her named Davi, made him the main playable character in a video game, and tossed into a D&D sort of world in which (true to video game), every time he dies, he goes back to the re-set position. And this happens hundreds of times as Davi keeps losing to the Dark Lord. But then, Deadpool/Davi decides that, instead of trying to save the world from the Dark Lord, why not just become said Lord instead? And let’s […]

A love story I could really get behind

September 27, 2018 by TheShitWizard 2 Comments

The final item of my Deadpool birthday goodies (that I’ve been stringing out since May), pretty much every moment of this was an absolute blast, so much so that I’ve already put the remaining volumes on my Christmas wishlist. In Volume 1: Isn’t It Bromantic, we find Deadpool wooing Spiderman in the hopes of them becoming BFFs. There’s nothing he won’t do to win Spidey over, including tricking Thor into a double-date (resulting in a Ladies Night to remember at the Hellhouse club), but there’s […]

If you must wear someone, you could do a lot worse than Deadpool

June 8, 2018 by TheShitWizard Leave a Comment

The second part of my Deadpool birthday swag, Back in Black is set between the moment that the alien symbiote, Venom, abandoned his Spidey-host and before he latched on to Eddie Brock, and spent a while driving Deadpool’s body around instead. To be completely honest, I don’t really know much about the character of Venom besides what I saw in Spidey 3 where it turned Peter Parker into an even bigger douche than Tobey Maguire is in real life.  But while Venom doesn’t succeed in […]

Oh, $#@! – Translated From Skrull

July 10, 2017 by Emmalita Leave a Comment

While perusing the free Deadpool volumes available to me, I decided to go ahead and try as many different Deadpool writers as possible. Here we have Daniel Way’s Deadpool, taking on a Skrull force, defeating them, and then defecting to their side in Secret Invasion. Deadpool reasons that he was created to be a killer of men, so why not kill men for the Skrull? Daniel Way’s Deadpool is crazy with a purpose, talks to himself intelligently, and that we see his P.O.V. (Pool-o-vision). I […]

I Swoop in Like an Ethically Diverse Knight

July 4, 2017 by Emmalita Leave a Comment

Joe Kelly’s Deadpool isn’t my favorite Deadpool. He comes after Duggan and Posnehr’s Deadpool and after Ryan Reynold’s Deadpool, but any Deadpool is pretty great. Especially when he’s making Spider-Man nuts with his bromance. Deadpool and Spider-Man are just hanging around. The Merc with the Mouth is mouthing off and Spidey wishes he would just shut up. Naturally Deadpool got Spider-Man into some kind of mess, because no one goes anywhere willingly with Wade Wilson. So now they are hanging upside down and being threatened […]

Wade wants to roast marshmallows while all creation burns.

Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe is interesting, but not as much fun as I like my Deadpool. Spoilers abound in this review. The first issue opens on Sue Storm grieving with Reed Richards as he dies a rather gruesome death in the shattered remains of The Thing. Soon we find out that Deadpool has killed them, and he promptly kills the Storm siblings. But why? Flashback to Charles Xavier and some X-Men forcibly checking Deadpool into a mental hospital. It’s pretty clear that something sketchy […]
